SARCSim Introduction

SARCSim is a modular simulator for heterogeneous multiprocessor architectures based on CellSim1) and built upon the UNISIM infrastructure. CellSim was initially designed to simulate Cell Broadband Engine Architectures, it supports any number of PPEs (Power Processor Elements) and SPEs (Synergistic Processor Elements) interconnected each other by means of a K-Bus.

UNISIM 2) is a framework for architecture simulation that allows to define an architecture by creating a set of modules and their connections. In SARCSim each hardware component is a UNISIM module and all modules are synchronized each cycle.

The purpose of this website is to put together the efforts building SARCSim, CellSim and UNISIM and the collaboration and interaction between the participants institutions as part of the SARC Project 3).
